Dearborn is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Dearborn follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The cake was ok, the filling was pretty delicious, but for $50 for a 6 in cake, very very skimpy on the berries, a lot of frosting on the outside which wasn't very good. The aesthetic factor of the cake and the shop itself is nice, but other than that very expensive for an ok cake.

I love visiting this patisserie whenever I’m in Dearborn Heights. Everything here is phenomenal. If you have a sweet tooth you will love this place. Their chocolate chip cookies are easily one of my favorites, and the drinks are always so good too. It’s the perfect spot to meet up with friends, catch up, or even get some studying done. The space is super spacious with plenty of seating, which makes it such a comfortable place to stay awhile.

I’ve tried the croissant, chocolate mousse, berry cheesecake, red velvet cheesecake, and biscoff cheesecake, and they never disappoint. The ambience is beautiful, and they offer a great selection of desserts along with a lovely seasonal menu. The chocolate mousse and red velvet are my favorites and definite must-tries! It’s a bit on the pricey side, but totally worth it.

The flavors at Gateaux are really good, no complaints there. Everything tastes fresh and well made. The main issue is the pricing compared to the portion sizes. Expect to pay around $9 for a very tiny cup of crème brûlée—literally just a few spoonfuls—and about $3+ for a single macaron. While the flavor is on point, the portions don’t justify the price. If they worked on their pricing or portion sizes, it would be much more worth it.

I have been coming to this café since day one, both before and after the renovation, and honestly their quality before was so much better. The drinks and desserts used to be rich, flavorful, and worth the price. Now many of the items that made them special are no longer on the menu. My friends and I went last night, and while the atmosphere is beautiful and the service was amazing, the desserts were really disappointing. They were bland and lacked flavor. This is not the first time I have noticed this, which is why I decided to finally write a review. For how pricey everything is, the desserts simply do not deliver. As for the drinks, I have never been a fan. They used to have a rose tea I loved, but it is gone now. We ordered hot chocolate this time, and it was honestly the worst I have ever had. It tasted like a cheap packet mix stirred into warm water, not even hot. Definitely skip the hot chocolate. On a positive note, my friends enjoyed their hot lattes, so maybe stick to those if you visit.
